Today I had the immense pleasure of visiting one of Switzerland’s famous Alps, Jungfrau—one of the main summits of the Bernese Alpines. Called “The top of Europe”, this mountain range is replete with dozens of high-alpine trains built to take you to the base of the mountains to enjoy spectacular views. Though most famous for its winter season skiing, this mountain is just as gorgeous (and much more colorful!) in the off season. The train we took to get there is the hest in Europe, 3,454 meters above sea level (for those of you not in Metric, about 11,332 feet). We also traveled back by boat on some of the bluest, most beautiful water I’ve ever seen. I felt very emotional the whole trip…these mountains look so much like Colorado!
